I am a fully trained and registered psychotherapist with more than thirty years experience.

As a schoolteacher I taught in a special school for disturbed children. From 1974 I practised psychotherapy in London, and worked as a therapist in voluntary sector households that I helped found for adults who had become severely disturbed.

I opened my Taunton practice in 1985. In the 1990s I chaired the Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy for six years, and was External Relations Officer for the UK Council for Psychotherapy for three.

In Taunton I help develop the Somerset Counselling Centre. In 2001-2 I did an eighteen-month placement in the NHS Child Adolescent and Family Therapy Service, Bridgwater. 2004-5 I completed the Foundation Training in Family Constellations with the Hellinger Institute Britain now called the Centre for the Study of Intimate and Social Systems.

I also write for publication, and teach in universities and colleges. I am married with adult children.
