I am a fully trained and registered psychotherapist with more than thirty-five years experience.
As a schoolteacher I taught in a special school for disturbed children. From 1974 I practised psychotherapy in London, and worked as a therapist in voluntary sector households that I helped found for adults who had become severely disturbed.
I opened my Taunton practice in 1985. In the 1990s I chaired the Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy for six years, and was External Relations Officer for the UK Council for Psychotherapy for three.
I serve on the Training Committee of the Exeter University Psychoanalytic Training. In Taunton I help develop the Somerset Counselling Centre. In 2001-2 I did an eighteen-month placement in the NHS Child Adolescent and Family Therapy Service, Bridgwater. 2004-5 I completed the Foundation Training in Family Constellations with what was then called the Hellinger Institute Britain.
I also write for publication, and teach in universities and colleges.
